Learning resources donated to Fiji

After a series of devasting hurricanes that hit Fiji commencing with Cyclone Winston in February 2016, BIOZONE wanted to help and has since been working with the director of Library Services of Fiji.

Merewalesi Vueti, the Director of Library Services of Fiji, is helping with the distribution of 9000 biology workbooks, plus model answers and ancillaries which are being donated to help high schools that have suffered damage from the hurricanes.

Merewalesi gave a statement on how the learning resources will benefit Fiji, "These will be an excellent supplementary science text for our Secondary Schools. We need to receive them as we will fully utilize and evenly distribute it to all secondary schools around Fiji for their benefit. These science textbooks are going to allow students to have a copy each and to read outside the normal curriculum text from the Ministry of Education, giving them access to information. Most importantly our rural and remote rural schools are the ones that will benefit the most from these textbooks since some of them do not have access to the internet that will allow them to read other science resources and text to understand different perspectives of science. Many thanks and we anticipate your assistance in the provision of science textbooks to our Secondary Schools students to benefit."
